ABC Sign Company was started in 1982 by Dex Silver, former Mayor of Fircrest and local entrepreneur. Over the years, many local sign shop owners have served their apprenticships under Dex at ABC Sign Company.

In September 2000, after 18 years, Dex Silver was looking to retire. Dex had traded services on a regular basis with Greg Allen, another successful sign shop proprietor. When Dex decided to sell the business, Greg Allen accepted the offer. Since aquiring ABC Sign, Greg Allen has brought the company into the 21st Century by updating the shop with cutting edge technology and state-of-the-art sign making techniques.

With over 10 years in the sign industry, Greg Allen has worked at the big franchise, "chain" sign companies such as FastSigns and Signs Now and was really disappointed with the lack of creativity and the "cookie cutter" signs that they produced. He has also worked at some of the smaller "local" sign shops but wasn't satisfied with the quality and customer service that these shops provided. That's where ABC Sign Company differs.
